Meet Bevan Wally, Djeleanna’s owner and founder, and a proud Martututhunira man from the Fortescue & Robe River in the Pilbara!
Bevan grew up on various stations all over WA and the Northern Territory in the Pilbara region before moving to Perth with his family, Bevan has always carried Djeleanna in his heart and mind from a young age.
Bevan started his business in 2007, doing cross cultural awareness, heritage fencing and spraying mesquite. However, after taking some time off to pursue his other dream of riding bulls in the rodeo, where he won multiple accolades, he has returned to his roots, relaunching Djeleanna into a new era.
Bevan continues to work in the business splitting his time between Perth and the Pilbara with fencing, mustering and regular trips out to country to collect materials for artefact making, a skill he has learned to perfect over his lifetime, continuing the traditions of his old people into the modern world.
Today, Djeleanna has grown to become a trusted partner to large-scale companies, delivering exceptional results in mining, earthworks, road maintenance, and rehabilitation solutions. The company also provides meaningful employment and training opportunities for Indigenous workers.
